We use NPK Fertilizer for Lam Dong Coffee with Baconco

Coffee is one of the high-economic-value crops in our country's Central Highlands provinces, including Lam Dong. Thanks to favorable weather and soil conditions, Lam Dong coffee has become one of the high-quality coffees favored by consumers. To achieve excellent productivity and quality, the proper use of fertilizer is essential for coffee cultivation. Therefore, in this article, Baconco would like to introduce you to NPK fertilizer products and the fertilization process to increase the productivity and yield of coffee in Lam Dong.

The NPK fertilization process for coffee comes from Baconco.

At the end of 2023, Baconco conducted an experiment with coffee at Dinh Trang Hoa-DDi Linh, Lam Dong province. This coffee variety has a significantly higher nutritional demand compared to traditional varieties, especially for secondary nutrients like Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, and Boron. Therefore, finding an NPK fertilizer formula that meets the plant's nutritional needs during the mid-and late-rainy seasons is critical for nurturing the fruit and maintaining the branches and leaves for the next season.

With a coffee garden area of 0.2 hectares and an age of 8 years, Baconco and farmer Nguyen Van Sum achieved more than expected results after increasing the productivity and quality of coffee with NPK fertilizers, foliar fertilizers, and pesticides during the mid-and late-rainy seasons.

In the Baconco process, we applied specific products to the coffee garden in two stages: the mid and late-rainy seasons.

• Mid-Rainy Season: We used 500 kg of NPK fertilizer (14-7-14+1.2Mg+0.15Zn) per hectare. Additionally, we sprayed Penncozeb 80WP, Cotrihex, and Cofoli Max36 to protect the plants.
• We increased the fertilizer amount to 750 kg of NPK fertilizer 14-7-14+1.2Mg+0.15Zn per hectare during the late rainy season. We continued to spray Penncozeb 80WP, Cotrihex, Cofoli K300, Cofoli Amino, and branch borer pesticides.
• Farmers can also prevent premature fruit drop by combining products such as Penncozeb 80WP, Cotrihex, Cofoli CaliMag, and KaliBo.

 Results after using Baconco products

Farmers will clearly see the effectiveness of using NPK fertilizers, foliar fertilizers, and pesticides in the coffee garden. The productivity indicators recorded during the harvest stage will demonstrate this.

• The average actual fresh fruit yield per tree in the Baconco coffee garden is 38 kg/tree, 7.5 kg/tree more than the control.
• The average actual fresh fruit yield per hectare of Baconco is 32,000 kg/ha, 3,520 kg/ha more than the control.
• The average dry coffee bean yield per hectare of Baconco is 6.8 tons/ha, 1.1 tons/ha more than the control.
• The profit between the two treatments per hectare (excluding labor, harvesting, processing, and transportation costs) is 268,000,000 VND for Baconco and 185,400,000 VND for the control. This indicates that Baconco's profit exceeded the control by 82,600,000 VND.

Although the investment costs for the two treatments did not differ, using Baconco's support products in coffee production brings higher efficiency and better profit. Farmers in Lam Dong have had a bountiful harvest, with outstanding figures.
